Lechlade Craft Barn offers craft workshops and casual ‘Crafternoons’ in a beautiful stone barn in the pretty Cotswolds market town of Lechlade on Thames. The perfect setting to discover and develop your crafting skills.

Owners Jennie and Karen started with a passion to explore different crafts for themselves after a lifetime of crafting. Giddy with the choices on offer and fed up of travelling miles to try things out they launched Lechlade Craft Barn in 2014.

We offer a range of workshops with professional practitioners and passionate crafters. Our workshops are aimed at beginners and upwards – sometimes we invite experienced practitioners to run a workshop, sometimes we’re simply passing on skills that we’ve learnt from crafting over the years.

Wednesdays are designated ‘Crafternoons‘ from 1pm to 4pm, every week. Bring your un-finished craft projects and craft in the beautiful surroundings of the barn or just pop in for a cuppa and a chat.

Lampshade Making

We will guide you through how to make a professional quality rolled edge drum lampshade that can be a pendant or lamp base shade, perfect for co-ordinating with your interior. This workshop is fantastic if you have vintage or old lamp bases that you cannot part with and wish to spark a lease of life into them or if you want to add that personal touch to any room. Create a 20cm drum lampshade with your own fabric – the piece should be no smaller than 65 cm x 22 cm for the lampshade. Any fabric is suitable provided it is a light to medium weight. If you wish to upgrade to a 30cm oval, 30cm drum or 40cm drum please contact us for prices and fabric sizes. Trimmings, fringing, bobbles or embellishments to match your décor can be added from our selection. Take away your creation equipped with the knowledge and some notes so you can make lots more at home! We have extra kits to purchase to make a matching set. No previous experience is needed, mo sewing required. This workshop is for everyone! This workshop is also held at other venues in Glos/Wiltshire/Oxon.
